The health of your eyes is our main concern. We are on call 24 hours a day and provide emergency care for all of our patients.
Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss.
Primary care providers need a plan to assess and treat the patient who presents with complaints of redness of the eye. In a primary care setting, specific equipment and familiarity may not be readily available. A few symptoms and signs help separate the common from the difficult choices. I’ve arranged this diagnostic approach as a reference for evaluating and treating the patient with a red eye.
